This study analyzes Fernanda Melchor's Temporada de huracanes, focusing on the relationship between violence, hegemonic masculinity, and marginality. Based on Sayak Valencia's concepts of gore capitalism and endriago subjects, it explores the use of violence as a means of reaffirming power and masculinity, mainly by marginalized men. The novel shows how structural inequality, poverty, and machismo perpetuate the oppression and necropower that sustain this system, underscoring the urgency of rethinking masculinities and their inherent relationship with violence in contemporary Mexican society.
