Abstract

This paper analyzes how Elena sabe (2007) and Mis días con los Kopp (2022) reveal society's denialist attitude toward physical and cognitive disabilities. Based on texts by Lennard J. Davis, Etna Verónica Ávalos Molina, Margaret Price, among others, it addresses bodily normativity and the implications of disability in literature. The analysis focuses on the relationship between disabled characters and their physical and social environment, showing how characters are constructed in an honest way that recognizes the complexity of disabled people.
