Submission Guidelines

The announcement and reception of documents is open for participation in the modalities of academic portfolio, critique, review and scientific article. The structure and formats to be followed for the submission of products are detailed below.

STRUCTURE FOR TEXTUAL DOCUMENTS

  1. Title (in Spanish/source language and English).
  2. Key words (in Spanish/ source language and English; maximum five).
  3. The maximum length of the body of the scientific article is 20,000 characters with spaces.
    1. Abstract (in Spanish / source language and English, maximum 800 characters with space). 
    2. The structure will include title, abstract, introduction, development, methodology (open to different methodologies, not limited), conclusion and references.
  4. The maximum length of the body of the critique is 18,000 characters with spaces.
  5. The maximum length of the review is 8,000 characters with spaces. It must contain:
    1. Title and subtitle of the book (no language limitations).
    2. Book author(s).
    3. Year and place of publication.
    4. Publishing house (include all, in case of co-publication).
    5. Book length (total pages).
    6. Cover image (png, .pdf or .jpg format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi).
    7. Place where it can be purchased (physical bookstore or web portal).
    8. Introduction, development, conclusions and references.
  6. The texts, in any of the modalities, must be original and cannot be published in any other physical or digital media. All documents will be reviewed by iThenticate anti-plagiarism software. 

File name. Files should be named according to the type of contribution, followed by the title of the submission, separated by an underscore. Example: Critique_Title of the submission

Use of images.To be published, they must be sent separately and with the following characteristics: 

  1. Send the file in .jpg format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi and no smaller than 15 x 15 cm. 
  2. Indicate in the document attached to the mail the exact location of these graphics in the text for their placement, so they must be named with a number that identifies them. 
  3. Caption, author's work, year, source, photographic credits or copyright credits must be indicated. Images that are not copyright free will not be published. In case of non-compliance, the publication of the material sent will be cancelled.

 

PORTFOLIO STRUCTURE

Compilation

Separate submission of bodies of text, graphic pieces and original film in a single folder, applicable only to the Xperimental Portfolio, which should be named: Xperimental_Portfolio_LastName. The contents of the folder will follow the following criteria: 

  1. XP_LastName_Text.doc
  2. XP_LastName_IMG-01.jpg/png
  3. XP_LastName_Lamina.pdf

Text bodies

  1. In a Word format
  2. Title in Spanish and English
  3. Author's name 
  4. Development. Must explain concept, design process and final product. No more than 1500 words (consider general guidelines regarding languages accepted for publication).
  5. Relationship of the graphic pieces to the body text. 
  6. Written authorization to use the graphic material according to the graphic line of the magazine.

Graphic Pieces

  1. 300 dpi JPG format
  2. Abstract graphic language: icons, diagrams, schemes.
  3. Figurative graphic language: sketches, renderings, collages, photographs.
  4. All graphic pieces numbered in relation to the body text.

Original Sheets. In PDF format, with the intention of respecting the graphic narrative of the creator. Due to editorial design issues, portfolios will be reconfigured for publication in the magazine. The original works will be published in social networks and the magazine's blog, with the author's consent.
