Abstract

The present study takes a look at the origins of the Masonic lodge, from the cultural background surrounding the mystery of the lodge, to the data that historiography has given over the centuries. At the same time, the first data on Freemasonry in the American continent is presented in a concise manner. The author also reflects on the precepts of the lodge, its cultural and mystical precedents, which have changed over the decades. Finally, the work covers in a very general way the basic principles of the lodge, considering at all times the little detailed information about it.
