This paper contextualizes the life of revolutionary Emiliano Zapata, his family background and his immersion in the armed movement of 1910. At the same time, it exposes the conditions of the Mexican peasant and indigenous people, the position of the south with respect to the lumbering uprisings, and the ideals that the Zapatista movement sought by getting involved in the historical conflict. Finally, the study reflects on the image of the caudillo within the context of the Mexican Revolution, his ideals and mainly his work as a spokesman for those who had been reneged by the Porfirian regime, without leaving aside the historical and political processes.
