Using as primary sources the death certificates in the parish books, the article seeks to investigate the way in which two rural areas of the capital of the state of Querétaro lived the scourge of the Spanish influenza during the years of 1918 and 1919. starting with a brief history of the Spanish influenza in Mexico and the historiographical contributions on it in the state of Queretaro; later taking into account the importance of the railway as a factor of propagation and the parish sources. Finally, the deaths from Spanish influenza in Pueblito and Cañada were analyzed, interpreting the data and comparing the figures from different parameters like age and sex.
