This study compiles and analyzes the legislation on the administration of military justice published throughout the Regency of the Empire and the Second Mexican Empire to know the main characteristics of the provisions issued during this period. For this purpose, documentary sources have been used: circulars, factions, and official decrees issued by the French authorities and later the imperial authorities. It should be noted that most of the sources are unpublished and belong to the Archivo General de la Nación (AGN) and the Archivo Histórico de la Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (AHSDN).
