This article is a historiographical analysis of the study of the guerrilla of Partido de los Pobres, which aims to point out the problem of sources to which it has been subject and, with it, to put on the table the new methodological proposals within the study of the social movements of Latin America that pretend to be the solution to this problem of sources to which not only the PDLP is subject, but that also affects all the social movements and Latin American resistive collectivities, since state repression and violence is also reflected in the management of public information, limiting its academic study. Therefore, the purpose of the paper is to contribute to the academic debate of the armed and intellectual movement of the PDLP, evidencing that the discussion is not finished as new approaches and methodological tools are emerging that allow a new understanding of the collective past of the social movements that have been subjected to state violence.
