This paper aims to give a brief overview of the films made in Mexico by two directors of Spanish origin, Luis Buñuel and Luis Alcoriza. It is undeniable the influence they had on the national cinema and that their films are considered many of them, even as cult films. Likewise, we intend to make a brief analysis of two of their most iconic films: "Ensayo de un Crimen" by Luis Buñuel and "Tiburoneros" by Luis Alcoriza, and from this, observe how their films had a more objective vision of the Mexico that was portrayed by other directors of the time, without misunderstood nationalisms and without romanticizing pre-established canons that were already held as standards in the industry.
