Abstract

This article seeks to understand how was the process of consolidation of the
Church as an institution of power in the medieval West (taking into account its
interference in areas such as education, economy and morality), relating it to the
background of Roman Catholicism, whose similarities and The differences are clear but they will allow us to locate this phenomenon as a long-term event.
Similarly, it aims to analyze the repercussions it had on the elites, modifying their daily lives and their perception of reality. On the other hand, locating religious regulations as determinants in people's behavior, thanks to the fear of God and the "possible" end of the world.
