This text deals with work of the photographer Leopoldo Varela, who was originally from the state of Zacatecas, and moved to Aguascalientes at the beginning of the 20th century, introducing himself in an environment of progress. A few decades before, the construction of the railway lines had begun and due to its strategic position, the state became one of the most important centers for commerce, people, ideas and manners. There, the photographer set up his studio, took portraits of the elite, landscape photography, and at the same time kept up-to-date with a number of techniques and perspectives that allowed him to have a reading of that time.
