The engraving technique revolutionized image reproduction methods, thanks to the emergence of prints as a new way of representing reality. For nineteenth-century Mexico, the use and development of the popular stamp allowed expressing feelings and ideas in a new way, in addition to giving rise to an alternative communication while serving as a documentary testimony of the social and cultural life of the country. Thus, through the caricature genre, the artists managed to portray the different problems and scenarios that the country was going through, using newspapers as the main medium to make and share their illustrations.
