Abstract

This work was carried out with the documents located in the Archive of the Royal Audience of Guadalajara, which speak of providing the Real Jail of Nueva Galicia, and the solution that the authorities considered convenient to keep the prisoners safe, therefore, the situation economic for maintenance was not easy. The neighbourhoods apportionment was organized for several years, since the petitions and procedures to carry out the feeding of the prisoners were not entirely easy. Guadalajara during the eighteenth century, had despair and uncertainty, which helped to generate a sense of identity among the inhabitants of the neo-gallega region.
