Abstract

The unification of Japan during the 16th century was an important event in Japan's history, which was orchestrated by Nobunaga, Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu who would end the process. All three belonged to the warrior class known as "samurai", to make way for the military dictatorship known as the "shogunate" during the Edo period (1603-1868). At this time the European world had a great presence in Asia, due to this contact the nations were developing in a significant way; however Japan isolates itself from the world, in an absolutist government stagnant in feudalism and without a notorious process of development.
