This article presents the analysis of one of the precursor works of French Romanticism, considering the context of the time and how revolutionary ideas were present in artistic expressions, for this case, painting. Another point that I want to rescue is how the pictorial element begins to constitute a closer approach between the author and his feelings, in this way the work of art can not only continue to be considered a work to delight the public, but also as painting had been for the French aristocracy.
On the other hand, we will try to see how art can be an ideal medium for political and social criticism, achieving a manifestation full of drama and ideals of a whole era.
