Abstract

The San Diego temple was part of the restoration and recovery project initiated in 2004 by the Secretariat of Public Works of the State of Aguascalientes. The investigations were carried out in the domes, the shrine and the catacombs. This article provides a brief history of the building, and then discusses the archaeological intervention in the catacombs, which was initiated by Ana María Pelz. The aim of the excavations was: to learn about the funerary practices, the construction of the graves, the manufacture of the boxes, the offering materials, among others. The work includes a description of what was found.
