Abstract

The theme of this work is the impediment of belief of the priest in The human mourning of José Revueltas, for this four stories that appear in Chapter VI are analyzed, they are memories of the character where the bases of his religious crisis appear, because there are four elements that he lacks in order to have faith: prayer, service, love and sacrifice. Each of them is analyzed in its respective story from a summary of it, the role that each element has within religion, and why they are important for the lack of faith.
