Abstract

In this essay the author narrates the anecdote of his unexpected but fortunate encounter with Carlos Contreras, the great-grandson of Jesús F. Contreras, and how this led to a series of steps to find a space where a vault could be built to adequately store both the sculptor's and José F. Elizondo's archives. This whole process led to consolidate the existence of what we know today as the Jesús F. Contreras Vault, which is located at the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes and houses the documents that can be consulted by both students and researchers.
