The history in a Contreras medal

In this work the author describes in great detail one of the Commemorative Medals of the Mexican Pavilion for the Universal Exposition of Paris made by Jesús F. Contreras in 1889 and, later, develops an interpretation of each one of the elements and allegories that compose the engravings of this small work of art, which derives in the total meaning and the message that the medal intended to transmit with all the decorations. It also briefly relates the aforementioned medals with other works by Contreras exhibited in Aguascalientes and Mexico City.
