Abstract

A critical and analytical study, detailed and meticulous, of the murals that still remain of those that Francisco Eppens made for the Children's Hospital of Mexico Federico Gomez within the government campaign of "public art for the masses" at the beginning of the 19th century. Some elements of the author's selection process are detailed, as well as the distribution and original location of the paintings within the hospital building, the different themes that the artist addresses in them and the way in which they relate to each other to manifest the interests and concerns of the institution itself.
