The text explains the procedure for the selection and establishment of the now well-known figures of the fatherland, as well as the important role played in this by the continuing war of ideologies. The work focuses on the character of Antonio López de Santa Anna and his attempt to travel this road as a hero of the country, more specifically on the way in which he and his period of government are presented in the civic discourses of Aguascalientes. The above is supported by four speeches from the mid-nineteenth century, three from 1853 and one from 1854.
