Author Guidelines

Articles proposed for publication in Artificio must be original and unpublished, i.e. they must not have been previously published or simultaneously proposed for publication in another journal.

If accepted, the authors grant Artificio the ownership of their copyrights, so that their article and materials may be reproduced, published, edited, published, posted, communicated and transmitted publicly in any form or medium and communicated to the public, exclusively for scientific and non-profit purposes.

Ethical Commitment

Revista Artificio follows the guidelines of the Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors ( COPE). We are committed to maintaining high ethical standards in all aspects of our editorial process, ensuring transparency, research integrity, and respect for academic freedom. This commitment seeks to ensure quality and ethical rigour in every publication we share with our academic community.

Original articles

Articles may be submitted with partial or total results of multidisciplinary research related to the sciences of Anthropic Environments, understood as the relationships that man establishes with his environment, from perspectives such as design, urban planning, architecture, civil engineering, and others. Artificio suggests that the authors review the three thematic lines described below, identified so far as fields of action of the Anthropic Spheres. However, the lines presented here are not limiting and authors can still submit their work for publication.

1. Research on experiences with the environment.

Research on how communities and sectors of the population interact with their environment in order to contribute to the development of public policies, new processes and methodologies for the planning, design, construction and perception of built spaces from a regional scale to the scale of an object.

In this aspect we welcome, but are not limited to, the following works:

  • Experiences and interaction with and through technology; with worship and heritage spaces; with the environment from different perspectives such as children, gerontology, people with disabilities, among others.
  • Experiences, interaction and ergonomics with objects, images and spaces.
  • Innovation in methods and processes for the study of experience and interaction with the environment.

2. Research on the transformation of the environment.

This is research on how anthropic activities can transform and have transformed their environment; on how they can contribute to the development and innovation in materials, in engineering processes for the creation, recovery and restoration of the natural or anthropic environment.

In this aspect, works on, but not limited to, the following are welcome:

  • Innovation in materials and tools for the transformation of the environment.
  • Innovation in the processes of creation and transformation of the environment for the future.
  • Innovation in methods and processes for the study of the transformation of the anthropic environment.

3. Research on the impact produced on the environment.

These are research works whose results contribute to identifying, understanding and measuring the impact on the natural and built environment, both of anthropic activities and natural phenomena, with the aim of preventing and/or mitigating this impact by proposing technical-constructive solutions, public policies, and new study processes and methods.

Theoretical and methodological work and case studies on the following are welcome in this area, but not limited to:

  • Impact of anthropic activities on the natural or built environment.
  • Impact of living space, spaces for work and recreation, and spaces for worship on community formation.
  • Subsidence as an impact of anthropogenic activities.

The length of the text should be between 4,000 and 6,000 words, excluding References and Abstract.

The original work should be in the following order:

  • Title. Title in English and Spanish.
  • Author. List of authors with their full names and surnames in the order in which they should appear in the publication, beginning with the paternal surname, maternal surname and first name, without abbreviations.
  • Institutional affiliation: After each author's name, the institutional affiliation must be indicated. Postgraduate students can declare as their affiliation the institution where they are doing or have done their postgraduate studies.
  • ORCID number: If you do not yet have an ORCID number, you can obtain it at orcid.org.
  • E-mail: Include the e-mail address of each author. Indicate which of the authors will be the contact for correspondence by marking their name with an asterisk.
  • Abstract. In English and Spanish, in a maximum of 200 words, including the objective of the research, its current status, materials, methods, and main findings.
  • Key words, in English and Spanish, 3 to 5 key words.
  • Introduction. includes the objective of the work and the background to the study. Adequately present the concepts and theory necessary to understand the perspective of the research.
  • Development. Clearly describe the process that was carried out in the research, the parameters for the selection of materials and participants, as well as the methods, equipment and procedures in detail.
  • Results. The results of the research, partial or total, are presented, emphasising important findings and contributions to the field of knowledge.
  • Discussion. emphasise the most relevant aspects of the study, new questions that arise from the findings and possible lines to explore in future research.
  • References. Authors should use APA 7th Edition format.

Length

Between 4,000 and 6,000 words excluding abstract and references.

Peer review process

Artificio receives and publishes articles with preliminary or full research results, book reviews and interviews.

Manuscripts received will be subject to a preliminary evaluation by the members of the Scientific Committee. Once the relevance of the article to the journal has been determined, the manuscript is sent to a pair of external reviewers; the papers are submitted anonymously and the authors do not know the identity of the reviewers either (double blind).

The author can make a suggestion to the editor about possible reviewers of international quality.

If the paper is accepted, the group of authors will have to authorise the statement of Assignment of Rights.

Manuscripts published in this journal are the sole responsibility of the authors.

Originality requirement

To be considered for publication, all articles received MUST BE COMPLETELY ORIGINAL, as they will be subject to plagiarism detection using the iThenticate tool.

In case of overlaps of more than 25%, articles will be REJECTED without going through peer review. Reports of iThenticate results will be shared with authors in all cases.
