Abstract

The present article takes on the relationship between the current sustainability paradigm and the practice of design. A literature review is presented revising different design discourses for sustainability that appeared in the past decades intending to show to design professionals the different perspectives that have arisen, their connection with other fields of knowledge, and how they have enriched design practice. Lastly, the paper presents a list of suggestions for those designers that commit to aligning their work to design principles.
