Abstract

Diabetes is an alarming disease in Mexico (the leading cause of death), which is why various programs have been proposed with the aim of offering measures to maintain a certain level of well-being despite the disease. However, from a Hippocratic perspective, there is no better way to deal with a disease than to be willing to eradicate its causes in order to prevent it or, if necessary, overcome it. In this sense, Samaniego's work contributes to the possibility of understanding diabetes in ways beyond the hegemonic medical perspective, which, in turn, brings with it the possibility of treating and combating it in other ways.
