The present text suggests a critical reflection on the relationship between urbanism and the construction of subjectivity in the contemporary context. Through a model of urban edification that defies constructive paradigms that are gestated in a biopolitical key of surveillance, segregation and control. Following a discursive line between philosophers such as Foucault, Deleuze, among others, we examine the concept of subjectivity and its relation with urban artifacts -such as libraries, bikeways, community centers, etc.- which foster other types of social interconnections that promote the sense of rootedness and belonging in the face of a civilization that supports logics that gradually become external to the human condition. Just the way it happens with the global economic market´s dynamics. It is argued that an urban inclusive planning should adopt the concept of spatial and environmental justice, generating sustainable practices that recognize the plurality of communities and the interdependence of all the beings that articulate an ecosystem. The text advocates for an urbanism model that is wide in the design of urban settlements, favouring notions of human dignity that include marginalized and excluded groups, but also non-human agents that contribute as actors that intertwine and configure the social space, beyond eminently mercantile notions.
