Abstract

Nowadays, the practice of interior design has tried to break taboos that framed it as an elite activity exclusive to certain spheres. Interior design no longer seeks only to meet the objectives related to aesthetics and functionality, but to encompass broader and more comprehensive systems where issues of social and environmental commitment, collective well-being and sustainability are involved. Trying to respond to the complexity of human needs with a moral and ethical approach. From the academic training of the interior designer, it is advisable to position the approaches to education in terms of the current context, which is undoubtedly affected by globalization and the use of technology. In this way, to question how pertinently the formulation of interior design proposals is being carried out, how much the university is supporting the formation of responsible designers, committed and sensitive to the reality of their environment.
