EditorialAbstract
Our editorial addresses the situation regarding the publication of research conducted by undergraduate health students, particularly in the Latin American context. It points out that, while institutions promote student research, there is no consistent and sustainable editorial effort dedicated to disseminating this work. The text highlights the small number of student-run scientific journals in Latin America compared to the global average and lists challenges such as a lack of resources, inconsistent publication, and limited expert mentorship. Finally, it underscores the need to strengthen these student initiatives by promoting research, providing quality advising, and implementing evaluation and dissemination mechanisms to showcase their valuable contributions and train better-prepared future researchers.
