Abstract

Introduction: Care develops the professional human sense, and is guided by experiences, experiences and care. It is made up of historical, anthropological and philosophical dimensions generating self-knowledge. Care lies in the humanization of the activities carried out with patients, family and society. Nursing care of the elderly focuses on the attention of physiological, emotional and self-care needs; Watson defines that care is a human relationship with the other person, being an essential part of nursing care. Development: The narrative focuses on an 83-year-old woman of Colombian origin with an unknown medical diagnosis, who was met during the work of a dental assistant who had nursing training and who indirectly offered her care even though it was not her main function. Although the woman's ailments are unknown, part of her condition involves the inability to recognize people, loss of motor functions and speech. Conclusion: Nursing invites care without seeking a personal benefit, only the generation of knowledge and the development of skills specific to the profession. Nursing narratives are a tool and a means to recount the experiences acquired during the practice of care.
