INTRODUCTION: Violence in a relationship is understood as any physical, psychological, mental and sexual aggression, self-harm is the behaviors that are sometimes used to relieve strong emotional pain, it is necessary to identify intimate partner violence in adolescents since at this stage due to hormonal changes violent episodes begin which can be reflected in the adult stage in the same way determine in themselves the self-harm caused for moments of crisis. OBJECTIVE: To correlate intimate partner violence with self-harm in young people in public high school METHODOLOGY: Quantitative, cross-sectional, relational study. Sample, non-probabilistic for convenience, of 89 students between 14 and 18 years old, from May to September 2024. The SPSS version 25 program was used, using the Spearman statistical test. RESULTS: The correlation found was r=(0.005) p-value = .583 so there is no significant correlation between the variables, however, it was found that 67% of the women present a slight index of severity of intimate partner violence. DISCUSSION: Regarding violence, psychological violence predominated in women, on the other hand, in self-injury it was analyzed that scratches are the most common with which adolescents self-harm, with the intention of reducing or controlling anguish. CONCLUSIONS: Although the relationship between both variables in this study was not significant, it is important to note that the lack of correlation does not mean non-existence. It is hoped that with the results demonstrated in the research it can encourage future studies.
