Abstract

The exercise of freedom is aimed at the development of capacities, through basic instrumental services that allow its expansion. In the consumer society these services are expanded with the sole purpose of acquiring freedom converted into Capital, which keeps the possibility of being reified, acquired and discarded. In the consumer society, freedom is reified in the way in which its ends and means are confused, its importance is limited to its role in the means of production, and it is coerced in the service of the dynamics and convenience of capital.
