Gender violence is a cultural phenomenon that impacts the social life of the people involved, it is a public health problem built and naturalized by society as years go by. In this regard, various conventions, letters, assemblies, platforms, laws, norms, plans, and programs seek to mainstream the gender perspective within governmental and non-governmental institutions to prevent, identify and address gender violence through the harmonization of their objectives. It is under this contextual framework that the following laws were approved in Mexico: General Law for Equality between Women and Men, General Law on Women's Access to a Life Free of Violence, Mexican Norm 046, the National Development PLan, the Sectoral Health Program, the Sectoral Education Program, the Specific Action Program for Gender Equality in Health and the Comprehensive Program to Prevent, Address, Punish, and Eradicate Violence against Women; documents
that serve as a reference to implement actions that contribute to the reduction or eradication of this problem. It is in this sense that Nursing professionals, making use of the strategic position they hold in educational institutions and health, are obliged to contribute with the eleboration of actions that consider the existing legal normativity and the rationality and interesubjectivity of the person, with the objetive of jointly establishing the best interventions to follow in the care of people involved gender violence.
