In the year 2019, OPS registered one million deaths due to lung diseases in America, out of every 100 000 people 58 suffered acute respiratory distress syndrome.
According to the above, it is recommended the use of the pronation technique which is noninvasive and is used as adjuvant therapy in the treatment of ARDS, in order to increase the benefits in patients according to the author Rialp Cervera
The level of nursing knowledge about pronation in acute respiratory distress syndrome, favors the determination between the relationship between nursing staff knowledge and practice, since prolonged practice increases the development of knowledge and skills showing that the level of knowledge that allows the care of patients to be of quality, guarantees procedures and executions of these in a safe manner. Therefore, if there is quality in the care process, the risk of complications following the technique is reduced.
