Abstract

This article is about the autobiography of Julia Navarrete (1881-1973), entitled My Way, locating it in the writing of women and in the type of story called spiritual autobiography. The analysis is about the first two stages of his life, which are about his family history, vocational process, entering a congregation, leaving it and founding another in Aguascalientes. The objective is to observe politics of memory, where the memory selects the facts from the perspective of the present and the audience to which the story is directed. The conclusions affirm that it is an autobiography by mandate, whose purpose is to have a text to evaluate the moral quality of the author, in which the memory was selective, but with which she also expressed her subjectivity as a founding woman of institutions educational and religious that remain to this day and that are part of the social history of Mexico.
