Abstract

This text makes a wide analysis about the constitution, objetives, characteristics and future of the university, cultural and educative radios in Mexico. It begins remembering the fates and purposes of the foundation of many transmitting radio stations lke: Radio UNAM, Radio Veracruzana, Radio UASLP and others. In the second part, it gives an explanations about the crisis of these kind of radio stations and shows some solutions to these problems and contradictions: the institutional situation: the competition with other radi stations: the power to transmit; the working equipment: the transmitting contents, etc. The last part of this article deals with differents proposals and models that are being tried for bulding the identity of these radio stations so that social and educative functions can be observed.
